Summary of position:
Under the general supervision of the Consular Officer, maintains the system for the registration of Canadian citizens ; assists in the processing of passport applications and citizenship documents; provides legal and notarial services; updates the Consular Contingency plan; answers all consular inquiries via emails or telephone calls; replacing Passport Examiner in the processing of passport applications and performs other duties.

Essential qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent diploma or an adequate combination of education and relevant professional experience.
Language:
• Fluency in English (written, read and spoken)
• Fluency in French (written, read and spoken)
• Fluency in Arabic (written, read and spoken)
Experience:
• Minimum 2 years recent* experience working in an office environment in an operational capacity with at least 3 of the following as part of the role responsibilities : client services and liaison, reporting, cash management, implementation of company procedure/practice, company communications
*Recent is defined as within the last 5 years


Knowledge:
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and internet search engines.
• Knowledge of administration of office procedures and practices.
Abilities:
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
• Ability to analyze and evaluate information;
• Ability to multitask, prioritize efficiently and perform under pressure;
• Ability to provide quality services to clients;
• Attention to details

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who have the following asset qualifications:
• Previous experience in a government or public sector environment;
• Previous experience working in one of the following fields – Consular and passport services and/or government administration;

If candidates meet the factors listed in the asset qualifications they must also clearly demonstrate how they meet these factors in their covering letter.

Organizational Needs:

Operational Requirements:
• Overtime will be required outside work hours and during weekends;
• Must be available on short notice to do overtime during evening and weekends depending on urgent needs required;
• Travel will be required inside Egypt, mainly within Cairo.

Condition(s) of Employment:
• Able to obtain and retain an enhanced reliability clearance (security clearance)
• Must have a valid work authorization for Egypt covering the employment period.

Area of selection:
This position is open to applicants who are eligible to work in Egypt, and to all mission employees occupying an indeterminate or term position, who meet all of the essential requirements stated below, and whose applications are received by the closing date. Must be resident at time of offer.
