Summary of position:
Under the general supervision of the senior Staff Officers or the Counsellor and Head of Defence Support: provide overall administrative and secretarial support; provide logistical and administrative support for high-level meetings and/or events; co-ordinates the section’s hospitality, travel and daily schedule and performs other duties as required.

Essential qualifications:
Education:
• Higher education diploma with a major in a discipline related to the job*or significant experience (at least 3 years) in a field related to the position* could compensate for the absence of the required diploma.
* Note: administrative and customer service fields are areas related to the position
Language:
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written); good knowledge of French (oral).
Experience:
• Professional experience in administrative field and customer service oriented
• Experience in working with a range of computer applications
Knowledge:
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
• Knowledge of general office procedures and practices
Ability/Competencies:
• Ability to work under pressure and independently
• Ability to work in a team and to communicate
• Ability to establish priorities
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptation
• Customer service oriented

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who have the following asset qualifications:
• Bilingualism.
• Previous experience with the Canadian Public Service

• Be available and willing to work overtime, occasionally

Condition(s) of Employment:
• Legal residence in Belgium, in possession of a valid Belgian working permit as well as a Belgian identity card
• At the time of employment, the applicant must obtain a Canadian security clearance at the SECRET level and keep it for the duration of employment.

Area of selection:
This competition is only open to Canadian citizens with a legal residence in Belgium, in possession of a valid Belgian working permit and covered by social securities.
