Summary of position:
Under the general supervision of the Chancery/Official Residence Coordinator, the Housekeeping Attendant (HA) ensures that all public areas, lavatories, hallways, stairs, entrances, kitchens and working areas are maintained in a clean and orderly condition including washing and cleaning floors, table tops and windows, as well as vacuuming/dusting and removing waste.

The HA is also required to assist with hospitality and event duties.

Essential qualifications:
• Fluent English (oral and written)

Note: the incumbent must be proficient in English sufficient to understand instructions and communicate as required to carry out their duties.

• Minimum 3 years of recent experience in a domestic role in a diplomatic context (recent is defined as within the past 5 years)
• Recent experience in general support/running errands (recent is defined as within the past year)

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who have the following asset qualifications:

• Experience working in an official residence

If candidates meet the factors listed in the asset qualifications they must also clearly demonstrate how they meet these factors in their covering letter.

Organizational Needs:

Operational Requirements:
• Must be able to work overtime as required (sometimes at short notice);
• Shiftwork and/or staggered hours may also be required;
• The employee will be required to wear a uniform and should be able to do physical tasks such as lift heavy boxes, etc.
• Normal hours of work for this position are in accordance with the Locally Engaged Staff (LES) regulations of 45 hours per week, 5 days a week, from Sunday to Thursday.

Condition(s) of Employment:
• Must be a legal resident of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and eligible to work therein
• Iqama transfer required
• Able to obtain and retain an enhanced reliability clearance (security clearance)
• Successful completion of a one (1) year probation period
• The successful candidate will be required to pass a routine medical examination
