Summary of position:
Under the general supervision of the Program Manager or of an Immigration officer, the Immigration Program Clerk will assist with the processing of immigrant and non-immigrant cases by entering information into the immigration processing system, drafting correspondence, requesting documents, responding to clients’ inquiries and printing status granting documents; receiving and taking action on all correspondence; managing documentation by destroying old applications, returning documents, making photocopies and putting files away and performing other duties as required.

Essential qualifications:
Successful completion of Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
Fluency in English (oral & written)
At least three year of *recent work experience in an administrative position in a commercial, industrial or governmental establishment.
Recent* experience in working in a general office environment and following standard office procedures.
*Recent is defined as within the last 5 years
Basic knowledge of Canadian Immigration processing and procedures.
Knowledge of general office procedures and practices.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

Management reserves the right to assess the knowledge, ability and skills and competency criteria using either of the following: written exam and interview.

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who have the following asset qualifications:
• Previous experience working in a diplomatic mission, in a Canadian Government or Public Sector Environment or in an international environment;

Ability and willingness to work overtime when required

Normal work week 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day). Monday – Friday 08:30 – 17:00
