Summary of position:
Reporting to the Senior Trade Commissioner, the Trade Commissioner Assistant contributes to the delivery of an integrative trade program in Hungary, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina by providing administrative, scheduling, research, and other related services.
The incumbent performs:
• Research and input to reports and briefings;
• Budget tracking and financial administration procedures;
• Information flow management and quality control of documentation;
• Event planning and organization;
• Agenda management;
• Point of contact duties for visitors and callers;
• Updating of the mission client management tool (TRIO2);
• Routine maintenance and utilization of electronic tools;
• Other duties, as required, such as, maintaining working files; coordinating leave schedules; maintaining database systems; organizing the purchase of office supplies, etc.
As directed by the Senior Trade Commissioner, the incumbent may also be responsible for the delivery of international business development services to Canadian clients in the mission territory.

Essential qualifications:
Candidates will initially be screened against the essential qualifications relating to education, experience and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications.

Bachelor's degree or higher from a recognized university;

• Fluency in English (oral and written)
• Fluency in Hungarian (oral and written)

Minimum of 3 years work experience in the past 5 years providing administrative services in an office setting.

Rated Requirements
The Rated Requirements relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies will also be assessed. Methods of assessment may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview, role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications in their cover letter and CV.
• Fluency in French (oral & written)
• Fluency in the official languages of Slovenia and/or Bosnia and Herzegovina (oral and written)
• Experience in an embassy setting, and/or international organization.

Organizational Needs:

Operational Requirements:
• Overtime may be required occasionally
• Travel outside of Budapest may be required occasionally
• Hours of operation: Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 16:30 (or 08:30 - 17:00), Friday 08:00 – 13:30 (or 08:30-14:00)

Condition(s) of Employment:
• Any job offer is subject to receipt of satisfactory references and the ability to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Reliability security clearance (including a criminal record and credit record)
