Summary of position:
Under the general supervision of the Political Counsellor, the position supports the delivery of the FPDS program for all countries of accreditation of the Embassy of Canada in Budapest by:

• providing general administrative support for the efficient and effective operation of the program, including by providing administrative support to the Counsellor and other members of the program;
• providing administrative, logistics and team support for the delivery of mission-specific programs or funds;
• organizing logistics, public relations (including social media) and financial aspects of events organized by the program and facilitating communication with stakeholders; and
• carrying out other duties as required.

Essential qualifications:
Candidates will initially be screened against the essential qualifications relating to education, experience and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications

Education:
• Bachelor's degree or higher from a recognized university; or an equivalent combination of education and training related to the position
(Certificate in a related field + 3 years of experience OR high school diploma plus 10 years of experience + demonstration of job-related training)

Language:
• Fluency in English (oral and written)
• Fluency in Hungarian (oral and written)
• Intermediate level of French (oral and written)

Experience:
Candidates must demonstrate a minimum of 2 years work experience (in the last 5 years) in any four of the following areas listed below:

• Client and/or public relations or service
• Budgeting or financial management
• Event planning and logistics
• Project or program management
• Administration service
• Oral communication and written correspondence
• Research and compilation of background material on political and economic issues
• Monitoring or management of social media outlets (e.g. Facebook and Twitter) and drafting entries

Rated Requirements
The Rated Requirements relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies will also be assessed. Methods of assessment may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview, role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.

Knowledge:
• Good knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Good knowledge of social media outlets, particularly Twitter and Facebook
• General knowledge of the Government of Canada, including its key foreign policy priorities
• Good knowledge of general administration procedures and practices
• Good knowledge of basic financial processes

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications in their cover letter and CV.
• Previous experience in a Diplomatic, Governmental or Public Sector environment
• Previous experience working as a program assistant or executive assistant
• Fluency in French (oral and written)
• Language capacity in Slovene, Bosnian, Croatian or Serbian

Operational Requirements:
• Overtime may be required occasionally
• Travel may be required occasionally
• Hours of work: Monday-Thursday: 08:00-16:30 (or 08:30-17:00), Friday: 08:00 - 13:30 (or 08:30-14:00)

Condition(s) of Employment:
• Any job offer is subject to receipt of satisfactory references and the ability to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Reliability security clearance (including a criminal record and credit record)
