Summary of position:
Invest Alberta Corporation (IAC) is responsible for the effective and efficient management and operations of the program through the provision of high quality of services to the Government of Alberta’s government, institutional and corporate stakeholders.

The position is a senior administrative support - level position for the Invest Alberta Corporation Investment and Trade Program. The position provides coordination and administrative services in support of the Alberta Investment and Trade Program for multiple missions. In addition, the position requires commercial facilitation and program management& marketing services to IAC stakeholders while offering Executive Assistant services for IAC Chief Representative.

Essential qualifications:
Education:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, OR an acceptable equivalent through the combination of education and work experience

Language:
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, listening, speaking)
• Proficiency in Mandarin (reading, writing, listening, speaking)

Experience:
• Minimum 2 year’s recent experience in each of the following areas:
o Experience in the full range of office administration
o Experience in providing client service
o Experience in working in a team environment
o Experience working with any of the 7 key priority sectors (Agriculture, Aviation & Logistics, Energy & Clean Technologies, Financial Services, Petrochemicals, Technology & Data, Tourism)

Knowledge:
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of general office procedure and practices
• General knowledge of financial or budget management
• General knowledge of macro industry framework in Canada and/or China related to any of the 7 key priority sectors

Abilities/skills:
• Ability to write effective business correspondence, reports and letters in English and Chinese
• Ability to research information, interpret sources of information an synthesize data to respond to requests from clients
• Ability to plan and organize workflow and to coordinate information
• Ability to plan, coordinate and execute marketing events & campaigns
• Ability to perform translation and interpretation from English to Chinese and vice versa

Language:
• Proficiency in French (reading, writing, listening, speaking)

• Previous work experience in an international organization
• Experience in working with visiting business and/or government delegations

Operational Requirements:
• Ability and willingness to work overtime on short notice, as required
• Ability to travel as required

Condition(s) of Employment:
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid working authorization in China. The Embassy / Consulates can only facilitate working visas for Canadian citizens
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid “Reliability Status” security clearance

Area of selection:
This position is open to external applicants residing in China and employees occupying an indeterminate or term position in China Missions who meet all of the essential qualifications and whose applications are received by the closing date. Short-listed candidates should be able to participate in tests and/or interview in Beijing at own expense. The successful candidate will be required to relocate to Beijing at their own expense.
