Summary of position:
Under the supervision of the Client Service Officer – Property/Maintenance, the incumbent acts as a receptionist and is responsible for the provision of a variety of clerical support services for mission programs. He or she operates the central telephone switchboard serving all programs of the mission; provides general information to visitors; provides Embassy mail services for outgoing/incoming mail including operating the franking machine; acts as dispatcher for the Embassy official vehicle pool; controls physical access to the Chancery Annex. The incumbent also provides clerical support to the Common Services team completing tasks such as invoice management, documentation creation and review, data entry, form completion, etc. The incumbent performs other duties as required.

Essential qualifications:
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, experience and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications.

• Successful completion of secondary education

• Very good (min. C1 according to CEFR levels) written and oral command of Italian;
• Very good (min. C1 according to CEFR levels) written and oral command in one of Canada's official languages (English or French)
• Good command (min. B2 according to CEFR levels) of the other official language.

• Minimum 6 months recent* experience working in an office environment in client-facing, customer service role and/or in clerical support role.
*recent is defined as within the last five (5) years.

Rated Requirements:
The Rated Requirements relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies will also be assessed. Methods of assessment may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview, role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications in their cover letter and CV.

• Successfully completed post-secondary education (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree);
• Proficiency in both of Canada’s official languages;
• Experience working with the Government of Canada;
• Experience working with a diplomatic mission or international environment;
• Familiarity with financial/accounting systems (e.g. SAP);
• Ability to communicate in one or more of the following languages: Albanian , Arabic, Modern Greek.

Organizational Needs:
• Remote working and/or teleworking is not possible for this position.

Operational Requirements:
• Availability to work overtime occasionally, sometimes on short notice.

Condition(s) of Employment:
• At the moment of application, candidates must have a valid work authorization, covering the entire employment period. If the employment is indeterminate, the work authorization should be permanent or itself lead to a permanent work authorization.
• The position requires a valid Reliability Status granted by the Canadian Government. Incumbent must be able to secure and maintain a Reliability Status for the duration of the employment.
• Weekly working hours will be 37.5 (Mon-Fri).
