Summary of position:
Provides clerical support services in support of the delivery of the IRCC program in a mission. This includes entering and validating information in departmental on-line systems; reviewing applications and documents; identifying shortcomings including incomplete applications, missing, or irregular information. This may include providing routine information and assistance to internal and external clients to facilitate their compliance with requirements, or their understanding of application processes.
Provides advice regarding office supplies orders to ensure that they are sufficient for the expected daily operations. Provides advice and recommendations to supervisor or manager on applications, on improvements to operating procedures.
May draft routine correspondence and process cost recovery payments and refunds. Maintains filing system, uses internal systems and accesses departmental websites to search or track information. Utilizes office equipment such as computers to enter, copy, transmit, print, receive or access information. Exercises quality control over all aspects of the work.
Researches internal and external sources to support information gathering for the processing of the file or application and to support program integrity. Provides assistance and guidance to colleagues and shows new employees how to perform duties.
May be required to translate documents and/or interpret for CBS. Performs other duties.
Essential qualifications:
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, experience and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or an acceptable combination of education (minimum Baccalaureate) and professional experience of (4 + years).
Language:
• Fluency in French (oral and written).
Experience:
• At least 12 months of cumulative work experience in an office or client service delivery environment, performing administrative tasks.
Rated Requirements
The Rated Requirements relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies will also be assessed. Methods of assessment may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview, role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications in their cover letter and CV.
• Bachelor's degree in a field related to the position to be staffed (ex: Administration, Management, Economics, Social Sciences, etc.);
• Good communication skills in English (oral and written) (equivalent to level B2 as defined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: https://www.coe.int/fr/web/common-european-framework-reference-languages/table-1-cefr-3.3-common-reference-levels-global-scale;
• Knowledge of immigration and visa processing;
• Knowledge of Government of Canada administrative policies and procedures.

Operational Requirements:
• The willingness and ability to work overtime may be an operational requirement as work schedule is subject to change;
• Respect set work hours and show flexibility with assigned duties.
Condition(s) of Employment:
• Candidates must have a valid work authorization covering the entire employment period. If the employment is indeterminate, the work authorization should be permanent or itself lead to a permanent work authorization;
• Before an offer of employment can be made, candidates must provide a local address as proof of residence in Dakar so that if selected, it will appear on the offer letter;
• Obtain and maintain a reliability rating (security clearance) from the Government of Canada covering the entire employment period.
