Summary of position:
Under the general supervision of the Mission Administration Officer and direct supervision of the vehicle dispatcher: provides transportation, delivery and errand services to all mission programs; arranges for car maintenance; and provides basic administrative, maintenance and support services to the mission, following established mission and departmental policies.

The main intended activity of this position is providing safe driving services to senior officials, program managers, mission staff, and other visitors or dignitaries following mission security and safety and health policies and procedures. However, office, hospitality, and property service support also play an important role in the activities of this position.

Essential qualifications:
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, experience and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications.

• A secondary school diploma or higher. An acceptable combination of education, training and experience will also be considered.

• Fluency in Mongolian (written and spoken)
• Working proficiency skills in English (written and spoken)

• Minimum of 3 years of recent experience (within the past 5 years) in a profession that includes regular and significant professional driving duties, with a clean driving record
• Experience in vehicle maintenance, either professionally or privately

Rated Requirements
The Rated Requirements relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies will also be assessed. Methods of assessment may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview, practical tests, and/or psychometric assessment.

• Detailed knowledge of destinations (embassies, major Non-Governmental Organizations, government offices, police stations, etc.) and roads in Ulaanbaatar and surroundings areas
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, safety, and security practices
• Excellent knowledge of Mongolian driving rules and regulations
• Basic user-level computer skills (MS Outlook, Word, internet, etc.)

• Ability to communicate effectively orally

• Ability to plan, control and organize day-to-day tasks and deliverables

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications in their cover letter and CV.
• Previous experience working in a diplomatic mission, or in an international organization
• Proficiency in French
• Certification in vehicle maintenance and/or property maintenance
• Training or certification in security, first aid, hazard avoidance, safe driving, defensive driving, etc.

Organizational Needs:

Operational Requirements:
• Required to be in good health with vision appropriate to the main duty of driving (visual aids, e.g. glasses, are acceptable). A medical check will be required
• Normal work week of 37.5 hours per week
• Ability and willingness to work overtime outside of office hours (early morning / late at night) and during weekends, sometimes with very short notice
• Ability and willingness to travel occasionally
• Ability to lift and move heavy items (approx. 35kg), use basic power tools, climb ladders, and other physical activities

The successful candidate must have:
• Copies of educational qualifications, or other documents supporting the application may be requested
• Ability to maintain a valid Mongolian Driver’s License
• Clean driving record
